I felt Turkle made a great point of how Freud’s concept lead to the relevancy of connectivity and its disconnects in a tech based society.  The more we allow our lives to connect electronically the further we subvert and challenge our availability in the physical world. 
Questions to help think critically about the word/term.
If Americans become more dependent on technology, is it possible for our innate instincts to subvert at the frequent use of smartphones and social networking? What’s really at stake?
